Exhibition // 1917

Centre Pompidou METZ

26 May to 24 September 2012

1917 addresses the theme of artistic creation in wartime, on the scale of a single “impossible year ” (Jean-Jacques Becker, 1917 en Europe : l’année impossible. Bruxelles, Éd. Complexe, 1997) when the world floundered in endless, devastating conflict.

It will feature Picasso’s monumental work, the overture curtain for the ballet “Parade” which has not been shown in France in over twenty years.

Exhibition // ANRI SALA

Centre Pompidou | Galerie Sud

May 3 | August 6 2012

Conceived by the Pompidou Centre, this exhibition is a work in itself, a symphony, composed of objects, photographs and four recent films forming a one-hour loop. The exhibition leads the spectator from Sarajevo to Berlin, from Bordeaux to Mexico City. Sound and music are omnipresent; this original work by the artist places the visitor in a music box, between fiction and reality.
